Here Am I

As the only child of my parents, I have all the love, care and attention that I need. When I am sick or in pain, I used to call my Dad and ask him for a massage, and he urgently said "here I am". He will hugged me and gave me a massage. This is how my Dad shows his love and care for me. And for my Mom, there were times I am afraid and worried to let her know of my low grades and even hesitant to ask something, but being a mother I know she knows how I feel, she will call me and said it’s okay "here I am". After that sweet kiss and holds me tight. I felt everything's gonna be alright when I'm with them. And I think that all parents do the same when their children is asking or calling them for help and attention. They will surely come and said "here I am".

Just like all the love and care for us of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is and will always be there for us. We can find this promise in the Book of Isaiah 58:9a "Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here am I." When we are frighten, fell that we are alone, in pain or sorrow, if we cry out to the Lord, He will answer "here I am". Also, in the same Book of Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Being in a Church-Christian school like Bethany Baptist Academy and as what my parents taught me and especially what the Bible says about Lord Jesus Christ. I have learned how our Lord Jesus Christ loved and even died for us. How He gave his only begotten Son for us to be save, to have everlasting life. God love for us is unconditional. How about us? How do we respond? What would be our answer? When the Lord calls us, can we also answer and said "here am I?" Like what Moses did in the Book of Exodus 3:4 "And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I." God gave Moses a gracious call, to which he returned a ready answer. In Isaiah 6:8 "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me." Isaiah was submitted his life to the Lord.

When I grew up, I want to be a painter, chef, teacher or missionary.  And when that time comes, my only prayer is that, I will also be ready and able for the God’s call. Be it in the Church ministry or any other fields. As what my favorite verse said in the Book Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” By then, I will gladly respond to my God’s call and say, “Lord, Here am I”.
